The inspiration for beginning Depot Doll Club came after elinor peace bailey taught a doll making class in 1999. Our core group of nine active members has not changed from the beginning. Some have joined and stayed for a while but the core membership has remained active and focused on the art of doll making. Club members gather together to share ideas, create and teach doll-making techniques. We promote the art of making dolls by donating our finished dolls to charity events and displaying dolls wherever and whenever we can.
The club meets on the first Sunday of every month in the large classroom at Fabric Depot in Portland. Newcomers are always welcome to attend meetings and join us creating dolls. To become a dues paying active member, dues are $10.00 a year and cover mailing expenses and the annual Spring Tea Party gathering of area doll makers.
The club will be posting current newsletters with our current calendar of events and class opportunities. Please check the site often as dates can change.
